Having a home entails many things that you might ignore. Everything is quiet, and suddenly… BOOM! There’s something you need to fix or do, and you have no idea how to do so. Calling your parents is always an option, and that’s why we decided to round up some of their tips for when you have to fix something around the house.
Here are some tips on how to paint spaces, unclog the shower, and hang pictures.
Painting like a pro is not always that simple. That’s why we’re giving you useful advice on how to best paint your house.
Choose the correct type of paint and finish
Selecting the kind of paint and finish is as important as choosing the color. There are many types: synthetic, plastic, base, exterior, interior, flat, eggshell, etc. Find the most appropriate one for your space.
Chose quality brushes and rollers
By choosing the best materials you’ll achieve a better finish while saving paint. If you don’t know how to recognize them, ask the store for recommendations. Also, remember that using tape for corners can help you be more precise.o.
Avoid painting in humid days
If you do so, you’ll have to wait more for the painting to dry off. Open the windows and it will dry off quicker, strong odors will be ventilated, and you’ll have better light to identify the small spaces that require a second layer.
Remove everything from the space
Sometimes it’s tempting to not remove everything, but doing so makes a difference. Aside from the furniture, remember to remove the covers of the light switches and any other obstacles preventing you from painting everything. That way, if you decide to change its look, you won’t have to worry about finding a replacement to cover what you painted.
Start at the top
Start painting the ceiling and then the walls. This will help to prevent paint droplets from falling on areas that you have already painted.
When the shower water starts accumulating more than usual, we simply don’t know what to do. Here are two solutions that could help you.
Vinegar with baking soda
First pour down the drain ½ cup of baking soda and 1 cup of apple vinegar mixed with hot water. You will see effervescence. When it ends, add more vinegar and cover the drain. Two hours later, add boiling water, and bingo!
Use a coat hanger
Find a wire coat hanger and straighten it was much as you can. Fold one of the ends to make a small hook and introduce it down the sink. When you take it out, you’ll have the removed hair and grime that was blocking the drain.
This task may look simple, but with these tips it will be much easier.
Materials that you will need
You’ll need a pencil, hammer, bolts, expansions, and a drill.
Mark the place where the bolt goes in
Once you’ve chosen where to hang the picture and how high, you must mark the wall with a pencil and identify the place where you’ll make the hole for the bolt. Make sure you consider where you would hang it from the backside of the picture.
How to make the hole
Bear in mind that your drill employs different bits of different diameters. Choose the right one, in accordance with your wall and the bolts that you’ll use. Establish a 90-degree angle between the drill and the wall, and press firmly.
Put the extensions and bolts
Once the holes are made, introduce the extensions in them. You may use a hammer to place them in. Then, screw the bolts.
Hang your picture
And you’re done! Now you can hang your picture on the wall to give your home the touch you were looking for.
